The wind turbine technician will be responsible for the routine preventative maintenance on wind turbine, mechanical, electrical, gearbox and hydraulic systems. Unscheduled maintenance and carry out retrofits along with emergency breakdown and major component exchanges are also a key responsibility.

Qualifications

As a minimum the candidate should have or be working towards:

• Relevant education, qualifications and/or comprehensive experience in a relevant industry
• Ideally two years of hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical experience in an industrial environment e.g. wind farms, power stations, industrial process plant or similar heavy engineering maintenance environments
• Valid driving licence

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs planned and unplanned maintenance of wind generators
• Performs repair work, identification and elimination of malfunctions and accidents in wind generators that occurred during their operation
• Monitors the correct operation of the wind generators
• Prepares source information for reports
• Fills out regular reports and other documents related to the operation of the wind generators
• Bears full responsibility for safety at the workplace in compliance with and application of safety rules in accordance with OHS and company policy.
